SheetGlide Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 September 2026. This policy covers the SheetGlide iOS app, published by Humuli.

SheetGlide handles one kind of personal content: the sheet music you bring to it. This page says exactly what happens to it, what else the app stores, and what never leaves your device. Where something stays on the device, that is a description of how the app is built rather than a promise about how we behave.

The short version

The pages you scan or the PDF you open are uploaded to our servers so the notes can be recognised, and the result is kept in your library until you delete it. Nothing else personal is sent: no location, no contacts, no microphone, no photo library beyond the pictures you choose. There is no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics SDK in the app.

What stays on your device

Camera and photos

The camera opens only when you tap "Scan pages", and the photo library only when you choose pictures to convert. SheetGlide never browses your library and never reads a photo you did not pick. The pictures you do pick are uploaded as described below.

Notation, playback and practice

Drawing the score, working out which hand plays which key, suggesting finger numbers, playing the piano sound, the metronome, tempo and loops all happen on your device. Your practice settings — tempo per score, which hand is muted, whether note names are shown — are stored on the device only.

Nothing else

SheetGlide does not use your location, contacts, calendar, microphone, health data or the advertising identifier.

What is sent to our servers

Your scores

When you add a score from photos or a PDF, the file is uploaded to our server and stored privately so the original can be shown next to the transcription and used again if recognition has to be retried. The page images are then passed to our recognition service, which reads the notes and returns a MusicXML transcription that we store in your library. MusicXML files you open are stored the same way. Scores are private to your account and are never shared, published, or used to train anything.

Account

The app creates an anonymous account on first launch, identified by a random identifier kept in your device's keychain. You can attach Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password so the same library is reachable on another device. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address. We store the identifier, the email if you gave one, and a session token. If you sign up with an email address we send it a one-time verification code.

Subscription status

Apple tells us whether your subscription is active so the app can unlock features. We never see your payment details.

Third parties

There are no advertising networks, no data brokers, and no third-party analytics SDK in SheetGlide.

Keeping and deleting

Your scores stay until you delete them. Deleting a score in the app removes both the transcription and the uploaded original from our servers. Settings → Delete account and scores erases the account and everything in it, from the device and from our servers, and cannot be undone. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your library.

Children

SheetGlide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data, and to object to processing. Write to support@humuli.com and we will act within 30 days. Scores can be exported from the app at any time as MusicXML or PDF.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and say so in the app before the change takes effect.
